I was wondering what a good set of HD 5 tracks would go for these days? Also how do you adjust them?

Just priced Berco track chains for HD-5G. With new grousers $3800 assembled. Chinese track assembled for $3500. Wilson Findlay in Raleigh NC best price. There are at least two chain assemblies available, chain only 2500 range. Are your grousers good?

As for adjustments, on each side there is a manual adjustment extender, an you should have a short open end wrench which you put a pipe bar or tanker bar in and once locknust loose adjust track tension. In general allow crawler to roll to stop, adjust till top track lift on one or more top roller. track still rest on most rollers, not poppin tight.

Same company, can install new pins and bushings in your track for just over a thousand, provided you have some life left. New track chains HEIGHT will measure over 3 5/8" and when 100% worn, will be less than 3 1/4". New pins and bushing can be installed even at 100%, for light work, since these crawlers go slow, not unusual to see 150% wear. Track chain wear (height) and pin-busing wear is not exactly the same thing.

Makes you think about its time to scrap a good running crawler. I have found replacement track for my HD-5G.
