Increase Hyd Relief Pressure = incresed performance?

I am thinking of increasing the hydraulic pressure relief valve setting on my small loader from 1950 PSI to 2200 PSI, with the thought that this will produce a like increase in machine performance. What I hope is to increase the high speed (loader has 2 speed transmission) travel power, as the machine slows down going up an incline and I have to drop down to low gear which is 2 MPH takes forever to move in low gear. What problems could happen if I increase the drive train PSI pressure 10% and would this make any difference in performance. Would you recommend or not recommend I do this?
The machine has three relief values Drive Train at 1950 PSI
Boom & Bucket at 1900 PSI
Steering at 1800 PSI
What ever input you can provide will be greatly appreciated,

Be sure to check pressure rating on hose, tubing fittings and pipe (if any).

Hmm.. almost sounds like a Case/Ingersoll 646 or similar.. Have you checked the actual pressure the pump is putting out when it "stalls" going uphill ? If not , the pump may have issues and isnt able to build adequate drive pressure..

If you want to go faster you need to increase flow(GPM)not pressure. Pressure increases power not speed. Most hydraulics only use the pressure required to do the work. Increasing the pressure may help but going from 1950 to 2200 PSI., I don't think would make any noticable difference. It could cause problems however. Maybe the engine doesn't have enough power to run the hydraulics at full capacity under load? It would be a big help to know what kind of loader it is. Dave

I'd be curious to hear exactly what you have. If you've got one central pump - you probably have hydraulic-motor drive for ground travel? Speed with that system is dependent on oil flow, not pressure. Flow increases with RPM, not PSI - at least with a gear-pump. There are some variable displacement piston-pumps out there - but again, I don't have any idea what you have. I don't see where increasing the maximum pressure is going to make it go any faster. It will make some fuctions stronger - like the loader - but also might let it destroy istelf if set too high.

What make and model is this "small loader".....

Am i to understand that ALL hydraulics are ran by the SAME pump??/...sl
