sk 120 check bolts on hydra pump to bell housing. They are known to waste couplings at 5000 hrs. Also check swing gear oil level, known to damage oil seal. They become damaged due to freezing in winter if you don't drain turn table.

Kobelco was a jap company thats been owned by New Holland the past few years. Very good machine!

How many hours are on this 120?

I work for the largest Kobelco dealer in north america.

unless its had a engine recently that cummins is done 6000 hrs is about all we expect to see from a cummins in a Kobelco.

the older series with the jap engine will run 12000 hrs with no issues. Kobelco switched back to jap engines and droped the cummins a few years ago.

I know many ut there think the cummins B is the greatest thing since siced bread and while its a great little engine and I see then go 10000 hrs plus in equipment it wont make those hours in a Kobelco.

Most, if not all, current excavator designs are either built in Japan or based on Japanese designs. I think Kobelco are probably as good as anything if they're serviced properly. Dave
