The owner of the co. I work for has problem with fuel in the crankcase on a work boat that he has. I may get pulled into helping him figure it out in the next week or so. Any help as to where to look first would be great. I haven't seen it yet so don't know what it is other than a detroit. I really don't know a thing about them but that won't keep him from asking me to help. All I know for now is theirs fuel in the oil. He's had this thing for years so I am told and this is a new problem. Thanks

I agree, fuel lines under the rocker cover. I had one lock up years ago when the shop manager replaced a broken one with with a copper line (factory are steel)it lasted 30min.

In my limited experience with these engines, they are extremely simple and there are good people here to help you out.
I would say the easiest thing to look for when you have fuel in the oil is making sure the fuel lines that feed the injectors are not leaking. If you open the valve cover(no tools needed) and turn the engine w/out starting it, you will see if they are leaking or not.
