after you remove the streering clutch the flange that is on the pinion, how do you remove it? All that would work was a blue wrench. Once it was out the push bolts wouldn't work, just chiped the bearing housing, had to hit it with the biigg hammer many times.
Do they make some sort of horse shoe puller? J Tool? Thanks THis is a 1984 model

First remove the nut.remove the lock and the cork gasket, reinstall the nut flush with the endof the pinion then bolt a large”T” bar to the flange.those 5/8 NC tapped holes are not pusher bolt holes.tighten the Center Bolt strike with a heavy hammer. The Cat manual calls for a 70 ton ram between the “T”bar and the endof the shaft. I have not used this method for thirty years
