My dad has a 931b cat and one of the front Idlers needs some bearings. Im looking for a little help disassembling the idler. We have the little tapered pins on each side out but are wondering about the big shaft in the middle. Does it just drive out or do the sides have to come off someway and something in the middle hold it on?? I know thats not very clear and I hope someone can help. Also I understand these are the same idlers as on a d3. Thanks in advance.

The bearing blocks are a press fit on the shaft. The idler bushings are bolted into the idler and hold the shaft in place by the center flange. Best to take it to an undercarrage shop. Likely need repair to the seal seats. They can fix everything and press it back together for you.
