I just got a 941 (80H159x)with powershift pedal steering and have been unable to find a service manual. I have a parts manual. Does anyone have directions/advice on adjusting the steering clutch and possibly brakes. The Cat turns fine to the right put takes more throttle in 1st to turn left. In 2nd or 3rd the machine just stops when you apply the left brake. I'm thinking the clutch on the left is not fully disengaging or the clutch on the right is slipping, or both. Does this sound right? Oh, the brake was loose on the left side and I tightned it to the same pedal position as the right side. This is my first crawler so any help will be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a service manual available (or even a scanned copy), please let me know. .

Gary,

I'm going to look at a Cat 941 traxcavator. In your experience with your 941, do you have a good suggestion of salvage yards or other options to replace the entire undercarriage of this 941?

Thax.

Gary, tighten both brakes up as tight as you can and then back them both off 9 clicks=1 and 1/2 turns. Then it should turn with a light toe pressure on the peddal. If it doesn't follow Bob's directions he will send you to adjust linkage. If it still dosent you may have a problem with the release bearing. Likely a broken pin in the bearing cage, a failed bearing wouldn't steer that direction at all.
