I'm looking at one of these. It has been suggested this is a grey market machine. Anybody know anything about this?

Have had a gray market 307B for 3 years. If it is of japanese origin it will be identical to the NA version.Local Cat dealer is excellent for parts no problem. If it is was made for Europe it MAY have different pumps. The 7 foot stick is much handier and I don't know why all excavators don't come with standard backfill blades. They make the machine much more versatile. I have a Hitachi EX 60 gray also. It too has been great. The difference in the two machines is the Cat has lots of power on the boom lift but the Hitachi has much more powerful bucket curl. Each has its advantage depending on what your doing. I might sell the Hitachi.

excellent machine. May be nothing wrong with it. I've had several of them & older Cat E70B, which is the same machine but earlier version. Very reliable. Also Kobelco SK60, it is a little more user friendly. Had a zero-swing 307SSR once ; great for tight places, especially with a blade & off-set boom. Check the length of the boom. Was 5'6" version & 7'2" version. Long one is handier.

hi, thinking of expanding my business to include excavating. would like to chat with someone with some hands on experience with the E70B and what jobs it might be suited for. could you dig a basement or a pool with the E70B? thank you in advance.

Cat 307 excavators are sold and maintained by Cat dealers. There very well could be gray market 307 machines in the country. You need the serial number of machine you are interested in for your local Cat dealer to look up to determine if it is a gray market machine.
Personnaly I perfer a Kubota mini excavator, the KX151 mini excavator, 12,000 lbs is an excellent quality machine and very resonable priced, Cat has a high price tag with it, with this size machine the 307 (15,000 lb)class its not warrented.

A friend of mine has had a grey market 307 for about five years. It been a good machine. We haven't found anything on it that's different from the ones made for this country, except the price. It cost about half as much.
