My Dozer D6 9U is leaking oil from the timing gear housing of the right side of the enginee where the alternator goes.

I have already removed the alternator and I can not see where is this oli coming from, I just know it is coming from the inside of the housing.

Someone know how can I stop the leaking?

Joe

The OEM charging system would have been a gear driven generator, there would have been a gasket between the generator flange and the housing,I seem to remember a charging kit that included an extention for the housing,ie you removed a plate and bolted on a housing to carry the generator, there was a gasket there too,as said in the other post clean and run to find the source.

You could replace the whole engine!! Find where the leak is coming from, first. Once you know that, the remedy may be more obvious, or at least narrowed down a little more.
Cleaning, followed by observation, after a short amount of running/leakage, is the way to go at this point of the investigation.
