What's a front idler worth for a Fiat Allis 11B that's in very good condition. The seals are slightly damp, but it's been sitting in an undercarriage repair shop for years and the guy wants rid of it. The one I have needs on side of the center rib built up and the bearings are loose. Someone also put a zerk in it because the seals are gone. I might be able to take some shims out of mine to tighten the bearings and get by with welding the center rib.

Any suggestions?

I think you should be able to get the idler fairly cheap. It's not like it's for a D8 or other real common machine. My guess would be a couple hundred bucks or it could sit there for a bunch more years. Did you ask what they want for it? If they tell you some rediculous price, look into fixing the one you have. Just my opinion. Dave

Thanks for the input Dave. I was thinking the same thing. They are asking $400 for it, but it's been there a long time and I doubt many come asking for one since there are few 11B's out there. I figure it will cost me $200 max to fix mine and I may do it for less so I think $200 will be my top price.
