I need to replace one of the hydraulic hoses for the steering on my 580 CK. The ends of these hoses have intersting 90 degree fittings. The Case dealer wants $60-$90 per hose, depending on which one.

Can I get these from a non-dealer source at a lower price or is the price range quoted by Case competititive. I am also assuming the the ends on these hoses are readily available, but I could be wrong. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I am one of the lucky ones I have to indepedant hose dealers in my hometown and hoses are always cheaper than at a dealer. They are also the source of most of my airlines and fittings for my tools.

About a year ago I replaced both steering hoses on a 580CK. Don't remember what I paid at the Case dealer here, but it wasn't anything like that. Something wrong with this picture.

I've bought several (premade) hoe hoses from the Case dealer here, just about the same price as what I could get them made down the street. We know 'cause the dealer doesn't stock in depth, have to have them made to get back to work. Our dealer doesn't make hoses.

If the ends aren't standard, I've seen a good hydraulic shop cut them off and reuse them with a new outer crimped piece. It all depends on the fittings and hose size. Only the inner part might be special. Good luck. Dave

Any hydraulic shop will be able to make you a hose a lot cheaper than Case.

Went to the a non-dealer shop. They made them up while I waited and I paid 1/2 the price that the dealer would charge. Thanks for the info-- you saved me $30.
