jd 350 injector trouble

i let my 350 crawler run low on fuel and it pulled a bunch of trash into my injectors.seems as if it wasent getting any fuel,but a friend told me to check the top of the injector and see if their is any fuel returning to tank,and their was none,i loosend the adjustment while it was running and after a minute or so it started to flow. i was wondering if anybody could tell me the proper way to adjust these. mike

Your fuel filter should have stopped any dirt before it even reached the injector pump let alone the injectors. If your talking about the injectors in the head they have to be set on a pressure tester while out of the engine.
