I need a engine for a 503 grader. It has a six cylinder international engine in it now. Any Ideas?

FWIW: Wix 2006 catalog sez Galion 503 Grader came with
Cont ED201
Cont F226
IH UB220
IH UD236
Older (1969 or so) Dayco catalog shows Cont F226, F162 and GD157.
Have no idea if any or all are drop-in replacements.

How would I go about finding out exactly which engine I have in the grader?

Joe: Just checking updates; I can"t help much (they"re almost all just numbers on the priinted page to me)...can say:
ED201, F162 and GD157 are 4"s
F226, UD236 are 6"s...have to look further for UB220.
GD157 and UD236 are diesels; ED201 not listed as a diesel, but this info from parts catalogs, so not all that reliable.
You might try Googling those; might turn up a picture?? With sympathy...

Joe, Is the engine you have an overhead valve engine or is it a flat head? There should be some numbers stamped in the block on a flat spot, could be on either side. Check that out and let me know.

Well I've been trying to get out to the grader but it is really muddy around here. I do know it is a Overhead valve Six cylinder. It's gas but would like to find a diesel to put in. It looks like a old IHC engine to me. Gas would work if nothing else. Joe
