Seems my pal traded for a dresser 125 track loader and the bucket won"t stay down. He"s had the hydraulci cyliners repaired as well as the check valves. Still doing the same thing. He said there were some electrical wires at the main control area, but they weren"t hooked up and o one seems to know what they"re. So now he has a loader he can"t load with.
Does anyone have any idea what the electrical wires are for, or where they should be connected?
Does anyoone have any idea why the bucket won"t stay down?
Is there a mian relief valve soemplace that might be bad?

Everyone he has brought it to has no idea.

Thanks

Those wires are most likely for automatically leveling the bucket. See if the control lever for bucket tilt has a detent position when pushed all the way to side to roll up the bucket. Could the wires be shorted and it's causing the lever not to kick out when the bucket is level? Also check if the control lever is already locked in a detent position. All later model crawler loaders have an automatic bucket leveller as far as I know. There should be an adjustable sliding rod on one of the bucket cylinders that's hooked to a switch. That switch would be hooked to the valve and kick out the valve when the bucket is rolled up to level position. The bucket needs to be tilted down for the leveller to work. The idea is that when loading a truck, after dumping the bucket, you push the bucket tilt lever into detent and the bucket will automatically roll up to the preset position while you concentrate on backing up and getting ready for the next load. The leveller takes the guess work out of getting the bucket level and speeds up the process. Some machines also have a lift height kick out to speed things up as well. I'm surprised no one else you talked to knew this. Hope it helps. dave
