Hey guys, Need some hydraulics wisdom, Ive been working on my IH 3444 .The loader and Backhoe are and have been off the tractor for two years Tractor lines are capped but some of the backhoe lines and one of the loader lines only have rags zip tied over the fittings One line was completely open and dragged thru the dirt It was like this when I got it - Im worried that I might flush sand into a cylinder if I reconnect without flushing the lines - I was going to remove the lines and try to clean them first - Any advice ? should I try to flush out the cylinders too ? should I blow out the lines with Compressed air and hook it all back up ?

I would take the line off that got dirt in it and flush it for sure. If everything else is capped or covered, you should be OK. Hopefully there is still some oil in the cylinders to prevent rust in the bore. If you're ambitious, you could take all the lines off and flush them. It might not be a bad idea to replace the hoses if they've been sitting around for a long time. Dave

Varsol or even diesel would work. Especially if you blow it out with an air hose. Dave

After cleaning with solvent, I would recommend that you launch a sponge through the lines/hoses. Most Deere Construction dealers have one of these.
