Does anybody have a clue where to get parts for this specific machine. It is for sale and would work well for me, but I am worried about finding parts. When I went to my John Deere dealer they said it sounded like a "grey market" machine and that they couldn"t get parts for it and to stay away from it. They said possibly if I had a parts book, but I don"t. The guy selling it claims it is the same as the EX200, but i don"t want to go entirely on his word. Any help would be appreciated.

I will need the complete serial number as the first three numbers designate the model. Example, 144-12345

The UH07-7 is the same as the UH083 and in the example above, 144 is the designation for the UH083.

UH07...140...'73-'76
UH07-2..141...'76
UH07-3..142...'77-'83
UH081...143...?????
UH07-7...144...'83-'86 (also UH083 in the USA)

The UH07 is not the same as an EX200. They are the same weight class, but the EX200 was a pilot controled machine while the UH07 has mechanical linkages to shift the spools.

Memory tells me that some UH07's were sold in the US, early '80s, but I didn't join Hitachi until 1989 so memory is fuzzy.

I do have parts books and service manuals for the UH07-7/UH083.

Who is your dealer and where are they located? If you don't know, I will find one for you.

Isn't the UH-07 the same as a UH-122, which is an earlier EX200 size machine. I did some welding for guy that had a UH122 and a UH121. The 121 was the same machine but didn't have live swing like the 122. I think the different numbers are just for different countries. Dave

The UH122 is the next size larger than the UH07.
I have found some additional info and the UH07-5 is the same as the UH081 and UH082.

The serial # 14425654 and the ad says it's a 1985 UH07-LCW. My dealer is Triple W in Missoula Montana, and is the one who steered me away from this machine. He wants to sell me a 1996 hyundai 200LC. Any word on these.

With the 144 prefix, it would be the same as a UH083.

I just went on Global-e and the 144 is:
UH07LC-7 (LC is long crawler)
Japanese name: UH07-7
Foreign name: UH083

Many UH083's were sold in the US.
John Deere now does the marketing in the US for the Hitachi product. Triple W has the Hitachi contract.

The UH083 parts books should be on the dealer's PM Pro.

I read somewhere that 1 out of 4 excavators sold is an Hitachi. I don't know if it's still true but I think this dealer is just trying to get rid of the Hyundai. It might not be a bad machine but Hitachi's are regarded as the best by a lot of people. Most excavators are all good machines though. Dave
