Fiat Allis 16B Front Idler Problem

Looking at buying a 16B with a track that does not run straight - believe it is front idler problem based on seller info - wondering what probable cause might be and ways to check / diagnose before committing to buy - also availability of parts and costs to fix. Best, Ed

See if the idler moves side to side. The shaft or hub could be worn on the idler. If the idler is in good shape, you might be able to just replace the shaft and inner moving parts. The blcks that hold it straight may be worn as well. If all it needs is an idler repaired, isn't a reason not to buy it. Dave
