Per the parts manual:
941 TRAXCAVATOR SERIAL NUMBER PLATES ARE LOCATED OM REAR FACE OF STEERING CLUTCH CASE, 1N OPERATOR'S COMPARTMENT ON LOWER RIGHTHAND DASH PLATE AN0 ON THE LEFT-HAND SIDE OF THE CYLINDER BLOCK. Mine was missing from the dash and the counterweights covered the plate on the rear. However, the plate on the engine was easy to access.

Thanks to both who replied. Curious how you like your 941? I just got mine, and want to order an operators manual. I pd 12k for mine, and it has 500 hours on overhaul of engine, final drives, undercarriage and trans. Does that price sound about right?

I have only had mine for a few months. It sold for $14K 3 years ago but I gave a lot less because it had a steering problem. I have just replaced the steering clutch release bearing. It didn't cost much to replace but took several days to do all the work. I have a parts manual and a service manual (although I suspect the service manual may not be complete). I also have a maintenance manual. What is the serial number on your machine? Mine is 80H1591 and was supposed to be made in 1969. Feel free to email me directly if you have questions although I am very new to crawlers.
