Can you change JD 450c loader to dozer???

I find a 450 c crawler loader and I am really looking for a 450c dozer. How hard to change over and is it worth it. If not does anybody know of any 450 are 550 dozers for sale for 6 to 8 thousand...Thanks Wayne carbo@bellsouth.net

I was at that aution at Goodrich's the 450 was not there.was it sold befor?

It would be a waste of time and money to try to make a real dozer out of it - there are many big differences - they are totally different machines.

To come close would be to have a Drott clamshell bucket and high grousers on the tracks. Then you can push dirt but still won't have the angle adjustments.

I've seen several 450 dozers sell recently - pretty good shape and in the $6000 price ranges.
They were all the smaller engined, non-turbo versions.

If you find a 450 C for $6000 to $8000 it is probably worn out and you will probably spent twice that fixing it up.

john deere made an adapter blade to fit on their loaders. Saw one for sale at auction in Fla. several years ago. I think it brought $350. Rare but they are around. Maybe search 'net, ebay or several people here may remember them.

I think it would be better to look for a dozer. Especially since you don't want to spend a lot. Dave
