I need a bit of help here - Ive got a cracked head which allowed the precombustion chambers to loosen and make contact with the piston tops on two cylinders - no lock ups or major impacts but the tops of the pistons were worn by the Precomb chambers - The engine was rebuilt a couple years ago and the sleeves have one slight lip on the exhaust side or the cylinder - I have a new head and 4 new pistons - I was thinking I might get away with honing the cylinders and new rings & pistons - Also I was thinking of using the The Precomb chambers in the old head if I could figure out how to remove them without breaking them - Any Ideals about the plan and how to remove the P. Chambers from the old head - Put the head in the freezer ? Thanks much, Ed

For future reference - The Precomb chambers are removed thru the top of the head - The Injectors sit inside the Precomb holder the whole unit comes out - I soaked the holder with WD40 then turned it over and put a small block of hard nylon on the Precomb outlet and then laid into it with a hammer about 3 whacks - It all popped out - there are brass seals between the holder and the unit. Dont damage the holders as you cant find them anywhere. save the seals too - You have to heat the holders to seperate them from the chambers. Good luck

They are not a tight press fit, just get stuck from being carboned in. I've got three tractors with those engines, and I've had to replace the heads on all three, and the block on one - all from cracking.

How did you get yours out - and more important what keeps them from falling into the cylinder I had this happen on mine - I had the head hot tanked so its pretty clean - should I just try tapping them thru the injector hole with a steel rod and mallet ?
