I have a t5 crawler with a spun rod bearing. I have the oil pan off and the flywheel cover off. I want to pull the motor out, but I"m not sure if I have to do anything with the flywheel. The flywheel is wider than the clutch housing - so it won"t go out the front. Is the flywheel bolted to the crank shaft? or do I have to pull the cluth bell housing out with the engine? Appreciate any suggestions.

Was wondering if you have a crank shaft available for a T5 crawler. The one I have is bad and can't be repaired. If you have one, please reply to kylejody@bellsouth.net or call me at 270-839-1638.

Thank You

Thanks for the help-hope to have it out shortly. Since I'm this far, might as well put in a new clutch. I believe I may have to replace the crank shaft since it is scored pretty bad on the #4 cylinder and has been turn once before. It has 0.010 over bearings in it already. Whoever rebuilt it before, put the rod caps on backwards. Maybe what caused it to spin the bearing.

Kyle, yes the flywheel housing & flywheel come out of the machine with the engine. Once out the clutch & flywheel can be removed thru the bottom of the housing.
However, if the machine is equipped as a standard drive ( no reverser or TA ) I believe you can remove the drive shaft,& drive adaptor from the back of the clutch housing, then the clutch can be removed thru the bottom of the clutch housing & I suspect the flywheel could come out in the same manner but it would be really alkward under the machine as the flywheel is quite heavy.

Kyle: I am not real familiar with the T5 but I beleive you have to remove the clutch housing with the engine and then from the rear you can get at the bolts that hold the flywheel in place. I have some parts machines here as well as some new parts available if you need them. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me directly at sales@pdmechanical.com. Good Luck.
