I am looking at a 2010 diesel crawler that does not turn to the right. is this probably a brake issue? and is it a difficult job to replace brakes?

Yes it is difficult for a number of reasons. It's possible it just needs an adjustment. But, usually it does not work that way with any crawler with dry clutches and brakes. You pull it apart for one little problem, and once inside, find many - such as rust, stuck, or oil-contaminated clutches, brake bands, etc. Also often find many stripped or broken bolts along the way. When you pull apart a crawler for any problem, it's often hard trying to judge how far to go, or when to stop fixing and replacing. When the 2010s got taken over by the 450 series, the steering clutches and brakes got much easier to work on.
