I have located a couple of dozers (late 60's,early 70's?) for one money, but neither engine appears to be good. 2 Questions...what engines will fit this dozer? What is a fair price (ballpark) for both machines?

Thanks! Tim

Hey Tim, I have 3 1150 crawlers. Case used 2 different 401 engines. The late model engine is a 401B. It's a direct injection engine. You can determine by the serial number. But the simple method is 401B has the injector pump on the left side of the engine. 401 has injector pump on the right. I have a running 401B complete with torque converter and pumps, along with a bunch of other parts if needed. If you'd like to chat about price or 1150's send me you're phone number. What part of WV are you located in? We might be neighbors. Rich

Looks like the early ones had a 401 diesel in them and later had 401B. after that 1150B came with 451BD or BDT. I recently purchased a 850B with a blown motor cheap but by the time I get it together it want be cheap. Seems like its hard to get a hold of good used case industrial parts. Most of the engines were used in ag too only difference I found in the 336 is the heads maybe the same for the 401. way cheaper to order from a ag dealer as opposed to construction dealer. sorry couldn't be more help.price 850 had working hour meter 2,000 hrs blown motor $1,000 is all I would give him. Now I see why he said load it.
