Hi guys The owner of a d8u2 offered to sell his dozer to me other day for 4,500. The dozer is fully opperation. Slobbers a little when ldeling for a long period of time, but no oil shows up in the exhaust. starts up with ponymotor. strong hyds, and good rams.C U frame?? and 12foot blade fair shape She move forward, bacbward, left, and right with no hesitation. Track pads have about a 2 inch cleat, some rollers have concave ware on them like they were changed at differant times. I believe the slack ajuster maybe all the way, but at this point she is opperational. Track links and pins are worn. Idlers have slight ware. The owner told me if he did not sell her soon he was going to scrap her. I know the track are not up to 40hr a week work. I just have a farm with a little work to do and mabe save the old girl from the torch. So youall think shes' worth it? Your true opinions will greatly be appreciated.

If he was asking $3,500 I'd say he was on target. There a plenty of old 2U's out there with shot undercarriages that don't go for that much. The one interesting feature is the hydraulic dozer. If it is a genuine Cat dozer setup with hard nose & #46 pump it is fairly rare and desirable as most were cable blade. Also the oil clutch would be desirable if it has it. The dry clutches on the D8's didn't hold up all that well, especially on dozers. They are a neat old tractor, definitely worth saving.
