Is the thumb supposed to come all the way down and touch the teeth when the bucket is curled closed? Mine is about six inches from touching. I would appreciate an answer as soon as possible! Thanks,
Jim

if you have the bucket with an extra set of holes in it, changing the pins to the other holes may close the gap.

Jim,
It kind of depends on the brand of equipment that you are using, but as a general rule, most of the backhoes and trackhoes that I have operated in the past either touched the bucket or was within a couple of inches. 6 inches is alright if you are lifting larger things like placing large retaining wall rocks or large gas pipe but wont do you much good for pulling pipe or smaller items. I hope that this helps. Glen
