Iput new seals in my charge pump and changed the oil in trans. filters and cleaned the screen put new hoses on suction line. Filled the suction hose with fluid and can not get the pump to pick up oil fron trans. the pump did not look to be that worn seals were hard. Not had dozer long just changed all the fluids and fliters before putting it to work. It would not move for a little while when you first started it when I got it thats why I put seals in pump. Is there some trick to primming the pump that I have not done I filled the line 5 or 6 times. Do you have to put it in gear to get pressure I tried in gear and not but was afraid to let it run to long about ten min. all together. Please help thomas

thomas. the pump can be a real chalange to reprime even if it is a new pump i put oil into the pump fill the line. but if that is not working start tractor and take your air compresser and pressure up the transmisson. not a lot just enough to move the oil up into the suction line and to the pump. oh also make sure you have the transmission full i know you have checked the fluid.

I have put seals in the pump and that did not work the only thing i could see that might cause a problem was on the shaft where the front seal runs the shaft has a grove where the seal has been running thought the new seal would take care of that but guess not. I can not find gears for the pump does any one know where to buy the internal parts they show the numbers but can not find them.

Thanks for all the help. I think I will try putting air in the trans. and see if it will pick up the oil before I pull the pump againL I have the dozer pulled up on some timbers and it is setting with the front end up hill a little bit. thomas

yes I replaced all the o rings and seal and pump was harder to turn. unless it is gettting air around the front seal where the groove is I do not know whats wrong. It is setting pointed up hill a little bit and I did drain the trans. and change filter.

i also replace the short and long suction hoses-try priming pump again and again-i took hose off filter and poured the 18 in hose full and quickly reconnected it then started dozer. it took a minute or so to pickup-then a few more minutes to show torque converter pressure. Thomas

I am going to try it again maybe I did not let it run longer and see if it will work. The pump got a little warm to touch but not hot so I shut it down.
