Hello, I have a new 11" engine disc and pressure plate ordered. The book says, set the finger height with tool JD227. Does anyone know the height to set the fingers from the flywheel? I can make a gauge if I knew the height setting.
Thanks for your help,
David Edwards

Thanks jdemaris. in reply to DLEdwards, 04-08-2008 09:06:01
That's the number I needed. I don't know why they didn't have it in the book. It's hard to get a gauge. Now I can check and set the height when I install the clutch. Thanks for the information,
David Edwards

Are you the guy from Lavoy's forum that first got a new 12" solid disk? If so, I replied to you there.

Use this - cut it out of cardboard.

From Deere specs to go along with the JD227 gauge.

Adjust release levers to a height of 2.012", measured between the contact surface of lever and surface of flywheel. Finger height must not vary more than .010". John Deere special service tool JD277 is modified by grinding a small .156" step in finger contacting surface, then using bottom of step to adjust finger height.

I just realized the depth-specs you wanted aren't shown on that image. I'll have go out later and measure my gauge to get the specs.
