I"m working on a 350H.It has been sitting awhile with motor issues. I got the engine problems fixed and the machine will only swing to the left, and very slowly at that. any ideas where to start. also I noticed a couple of dimmer switches on the floor? I have no manual, (looking for one!) so any help would be appreciated...donny

Hey donny, you can get a manual from Sycamore Enterprises. They are basically an OEM supplier for BE as well as several other mfgs manuals. We got a set for a 71B a few years back (had them in stock) and their manuals are first quality, first printing, not copies. I went ahead and called them a little bit ago and they have the books you need for the 350H. They have a parts manual for $120, an operators/maintanance manual for $100 and the svc manual for $125. Their number is 812-477-2266. You can call and give them your card info, etc but you have to fax them the actual order. The fax number is 812-476-7383.
I've got a set of factory manuals in front of me now that Dad got from a BE service school when he was with the dealership back in the 70's. Swing troublshooting says if it'll swing one way but not the other it's probably one of the following: #1-control circuit malfunction (inspect, test and repair)---#2-servo control cylinder malfunction (Remove linkage from pump control actuating lever. cylinder rod should mover smoothly from neutral to full stroke. Full stroke from N to either direction is.937")---#3- external pump control lever arm out of adjustment (check and adjust)---#4-high pressure relief valvestuck open or setting is incorrect (check for correct pressure and replace if necessary)--#5-pump control pressures are not adjusted to correct settings (check for correct pressures and adjust)--#6-charge check valve stuck open (locate under charge pump, inspect and/or replace check valves--#7-shuttle valve in motor manifold stuck (shuttle must slide freely, remove and inspect)--#8-mechanical problems pumop shaft broken, motor shaft broken, gear or bearing problem in swing drive (repair)--#9-internal restriction in a hose (inspect and repair)----- -I've never actually worked on one of these machines but with those options in mind and knowing the machine history you gave of it setting awhile I'd venture it's a stuck spool or one of the reliefs stuck in the open position.I just don't think the linkages would have moved when it was sitting. The stuck spools and reliefs are also listed as causes for week turning, slow turning, etc which would account for it not even turning that good in the one direction. If it were me I'd start by checking to make sure the spools are sliding free first then go from there.---Armchairing something like this is never easy but I'll be happy to assist all I can with info from the books I've got. My direct email is Northwest80D@ctc.net if you want to contact me that way.
