Have a HD3 project. Starter solenoid was mounted on torque tube directly under settlement bowl. Where should it be located ? Can"t tell by looking at parts book or operators manual. Will the sheet metal from D-15 diesel work on HD3 particularly the metal under fuel tank and fuel shut off control ??

The solonoid should mount directly on the starter. There should be a metal bracket that goes from one post on the solonoid to the post on the starter motor. Kind of hard to get to.

I"m not sure on the sheet metal, as mine is missing, too.

Hope this helps,
