Well....the old girl has a belly full of antifreeze and after I got the heads off it didn't come from on top.

It has to be a holed sleeve or a o-ring...no big deal right?...just pull the pan and take care of it...lol

This old girl has a 301 in her (instead of the 267) and there is no way that pan is coming off in frame.

So...anyone pulled one of these motors?
I've got the service manual and it doesn't make any reference to the removal procedure.
I'm guessing the shuttle unit and all is going to come out at one shot?

Any pointers or tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks much!

Mongo

What makes you think it is the 301 instead of the 267? I was about to buy a rebuild kit and I was just assuming what I had was a 267D.

How can you tell the two apart?

If you look on the right hand side of the motor, towards the front, on the top of the injection pump drive area there should be a engine serial number plate rivited on that shows model and serial number of the engine.
