I am looking at a international 500c with 200 hours on a rebuilt engine/drivetrain. The seller is asking $10,000. The dozer looks in good condition with 80% undercarrige. Is this a good deal in upstate new york? My other ? is would this be a good size dozer to clear brush and maybe some 4-6 inch stumps? I am new to the dozer world and would like some advise.

If you're looking to clear stumps, especially 6" size, the 500 is NOT what you want. I would recommend an excavator with a thumb. Something along the lines of a Cat E70B or E110B. Dozers are really not designed to pull stumps and you can tear one up if you're not careful. An excavator allows you to DIG them out and the thumb aids in picking them up to move them. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any other questions. Steve.

I feel this is WAY to high ,remember alot of the undercarriage is non existent. $6000-6500 more like it You'd be much better off with a Case or Deere Parts are cheaper and more readly available. Also IH and Allis parts are 30-40% high and harder to get and some impossible.
