I just got a 1975 CASE 450 crawler loader about a week ago. Everything has been fine until today when I started it up and tried to move it, it wouldn't move. Could it be the charge pump? I have not noticed any problem previously. Does anyone know the best way to diagnose/correct this problem?

Thank You for any help

is the two speed trans lever in gear low is forward high is back toward the seat it the lever behind the your left foot you might have bumped it to neutral when you got off.also you can not shift it when the machine is running. you should shut it off to change from low to high

Make sure you have enough tranny fluid and it's not creamy or light coloured. Make sure the big hose that leads to the charging pump is not collapsing. Check that there is no debris in the screens at the charging pump. To check the fluid it should be under the seat.

Seems odd that it was ok when you parked it and won"t drive when you went back to it,are you sure the mechanical range box is in gear?.

Check oil level and condition of oil first. If full and clean, check filters and suction screens. If OK there then pressure tests are in order. Could be suction leak (pump losing prime). This should give you something to start with. If you need more help or have questions feel free to contact me directly at sales@pdmechanical.com. Good Luck. Steve.
