ok i just want to wonder why people (especially here in SC) always go with caterpillar for skidsteers. I mean there rental and machines cost more than a BOBCAT. But there are cons of the cat skidsteers like the tracks they are prone to skid off and they are extremely thin. I am just wondering. there trackhoes and dozers are the best and you cant beat them but its like no one goes and researches equipment before buying they just go drive the skidsteer and decide they like it. I guess i just want to know why so many people go with caterpillar compact equipment?

man i am with you DWF. the t 190 is the most versatile machine in my opinion and probably the most popular since the 773. i use my t 190 for clearing and brush removal and for backfilling anything that is dug. I really love mine

I have a Bobcat T-190. I love the machine. I bought it for landscape work, covering mound septic systems and some leveling in parking lots etc. It's really great for holding a grade, much better than tires. I've had Caterpillar equipment and it's okay for the most part. They have their good and bad models. I wouldn't begin to compare my Bobcat dealer with the Cat dealer. When you are at the Bobcat store or calling you are like family.

Going to be intresting to see how KUBOTA fairs in this skidsteer market. They are to introduce 4 new models late this fall that will have a price advantage over cat as well as some very new features. This was trigred by the fact that BobCat decided to bring in the Kioti tractor rebadged in to the BobCat name. For years Kubota would not talk about skid steer market because they were suppl;ing 70% of the engines now things have changed.

ok I have an answer about this, we have a tracked cat skidsteer, and let me tell you in is a great little machine ( 257B ) I have tried most all of the other tracked ones and i`ll never go back to another brand, cats tracks have a torsion suspension built into them so on a hard surface they ride nice and smooth, try taking a bobcat across a road or a parking lot, they vibrate so bad it feels like there gonna fall apart, the tracks are thin but we have almost 1000 hrs on ours and it has been good so far, a friend of mine has one with 1200 + hrs onthe orignal tracks and still going strong, the only problem we have had is the bogie wheels bearing have issues, but there is a company making aftermarket ones that are a little cheaper then cat, As for a compact excavator I wouldn`t have anything other then a kubota, got one love it, tried alomst all the other brands, and the kubota wins hands down, 1800 + hrs I think we have put it threw a good workout and it hasn`t let me down yet.

so not everyone likes all cat small stuff, I only like the tracked skidsteers, kubota compact excavators, komatsu bigger excavators, cat loaders, or maybe komatsu , older cat dozers, new komatsu dozers, love our case 850 dozer, hate our JD 450d dozer LOL
