With the back hoe on the crawler it is a bit light on the front and can be unstable especially when loading onto the truck. Any suggestions what to do. Could fill the bucket with rocks or dirt but that doesn't go over too well while driving down the roads.

Adding counter weights to the front of the loader would really be impractical considering the only inconvenience is when your loading. Perhaps backing onto the trailer would be easier. The downhill slope of the ramps would help shift the weight towards the front of the machine.
I have a backhoe that i attached to my tractor and when floating that its really backheavy. I always back on the float when moving the tractor with the backhoe on.
Good luck!
