I just purchased what I believe is an old Avery angle blade dozer. This is a very small four cylinder dozer with a manually operated/angled front dozer blade. It appears to be all there, but will need some TLC to get it back to running shape again. It has been sitting in a barn for decades and was on it's way to the scrap dealer when I found it. Does anyone have any info on Avery dozers. My guess from just looking at it is that it is in the late 1940's to 1950's vintage. Any info on value would also be appreciated. I only paid $300 for it. It will be a neat toy to clean up the driveway and maintain trails through the woods, if I can get it back to operational status. Thanks in advance for any imput.
Jerry

With some - only the model number tag will tell for sure - if it isn't missing. Late model HGs and OC3s are exactly the same machines. And, since parts got swapped so often over the years - it makes ID even more difficult.

Here's one bogus Avery crawler (actually an HG) in reply to Jerry Marks, 05-07-2008 10:11:55
Here are some photos of one of the fake Avery crawlers I mentioned.

If it has Avery tags on it - someone probably did it just to look like an Avery. I've seen several over the years - all were bogus.

Avery and Minne Moline BFs, as well as Cletrac Generals - all use the same Hercules engines and Clark 3 speed transaxles as Cletrac/Oliver HGs and OC3s. So, it's pretty easy to dress up an HG and call it an Avery.

You may have a CLETRAC/OLIVER MODEL(HG)which came in wide row track models and narrow tracks, some with rubber pads etc. They had HERCULES engines but many have had these replaced with other engines.CENTAUR
