I have amassed 4 drotts, one 35,two 40's and a 50. All are on tracks. Over the years the 35 has given its all but much of it is good. The one 40 has a track and the drive gearbox missing;will the one off the 35 work? There are very few of these in Florida and I need parts exchange info from a knowlegeable source..... ...can any one help?

I owned a Drott 50D several years ago and as I recall the 40 and the 50 final drives were the same. The only catch to it is they made a small version of the final drive for both as well as a big version. My experience with the Drott and older Case excavators were that they had very slow hydraulic cycle times compared to other brands. Also the pillow block bearings on the axles were a constant expensive problem.I bought a 490E John Deere after the Drott and even being two sizes smaller it will run rings around the Drott.I think the Drott 35 final is smaller than the others. It should be the same as a 880 Case.

Drott and Case are the same hoe with different names.
