Hello all, I've got a question about the electric clutch cutout solenoid on a borg warner shuttle. I pulled mine off, and the plunger is all the way down on the threaded end. I can take my finger and push the plunger toward the back of the cylinder (away from the threads). What is the correct operation of this cylinder? When it's energized, does it pull the plunger back from the threads? Or should the plunger be held back and pushed forward? I hooked it up 12V, and got nothing. But I didn't think about switching the pos-neg connections to see if it worked. Thanks in advance. Daryl

The plunger valve is spring loaded to stay in the drive position which is out,it does not matter which way the wires are attached to the solenoid as it is not polarity sensitive.

The plunger should have no effect on the operation of the shuttle when there is no voltage to it. It doesn't appear to be stuck if you can move it. I would try reversing the leads but I don't think it matters. What was your problem with the selenoid?
