Can't tell you much but parts are probably available.

I have a 2606 5 speed with a forward/reverse lever. Popping out of gear means there is a bad gear in the tranny. Could run over a grand in parts and a couple grand to fix. Got tired of holding in with my knee. For now, I drilled a hole in the side of the dash, put in a long bolt with washer and rubber hose on it. Bolt the right length and hole drilled in right place allows me to hook the lever over in front of the bolt and no more popping out of gear.
