Getting ready to paint the old 440 ICD and found that the original paint looked pretty sickly yellow (bottom layer). Found Krylon had the same ugly yellow and called it John Deere Yellow. Is it true that JD painted these with this puke yellow?
If so, I'll let it happen and live with it.

Check the link, The blade is pretty close to original undercarrage,

John Deere industrial yellow is still available from Deere, you get the yellow that is for prior to 198?, can't remember for sure. There are only two, and the later one is quite different. The original industrial yellow is almost orangish to a certain extent. If you need it, I have the code for the old industrial yellow in Martin Seynour.

early JD construction yellow was a bit more yellow than the current shade. I found that you can get real close with both "chrome yellow" and "school bus yellow" at napa. Do NOT use the ag JD yellow as used on the farm tractors.

I also have a 1960 440IDC with a 831 loader, There weren't many made in 1960, I try to look at all I run across to to see if there is a newer one than mind left. If you don't mind what is your serial number? You want JD Industrial yellow any JD dealer can get it.

All you need to do is change the gear set, you don't need to change the final case itself. I have gears on hand.
