Thought you guys might find this picture of our Road Association snowplow interesting.

We live on a private road that is 3 1/2 miles long and have a Road Association which takes care of the road.

I talked them into getting a Farmall M. Mounted a snowplow off a truck on the front and a wing plow on the side.

The front blade takes 8 ft and the wing plow 7 ft so we can plow the whole road in one round trip.

The front blade is lifted and angled with hydraulics and the wing plow is lifted with a hydraulic cylinder throught a cable pulley sustem.

In the summer we have an old horse drawn road grader we converted to hydraulics which we pull behind the tractor.

Rigged the belly pump to pump full time through a four value two-way system. Use the filler opening in the belly pump as the return for the oil and had to drill a small breather hole in the reservoir to allow air in and out. Hole is 1/8" and seems to be plenty.

Why don't I get a picture? All I get is a little box with a red x in it.

I just tried it in both Explorer and Netscape and get a picture in both.

Here's a direct address for the photo.

Thanks for the picture. Would like to see a big album with close-ups. Did you put a live pump on? What gear do you use? How is the tractor weighted? What part of the country do you live in? Have you trained the dog to shovel out the hydrants?

Thanks for the picture.

Would like to see a big album with close-ups.

I'll put together some photos and post them later. We're getting a pretty good storm at the moment so it'll probably get put to use soon.

Did you put a live pump on?

Using the belly pump which runs all the time pumping through a four valve two-way system.

What gear do you use?

Mostly 4th although we have about a half mile which is a 13% grade which takes a lower gear. Our snow is very light and fluffy, no drifting since we hardly ever have any wind, just a lot of snow.

How is the tractor weighted?

Fluid in tires, very agressive set of chains plus about another 1000 lbs on the rear tires.

What part of the country do you live in?

Northwest Montana.

Have you trained the dog to shovel out the hydrants?

No hydrants up here but he's good at pissing on the tires.
