I found an add in local paper for a Super C I dont know much about them. Owner says it has a belly mower, tires are weathered, paint and decals about 10 yrs ago. He said it runs good and is narrow frnt. Also said it has some gadget to speed up rpm,s on mower. He wants 1500.00. is this agood price? What should I look for as a problem on these tractors. any advice would be great thanks

Ange,
Here in Central Texas, that would be a good price if: 1. The mower is a Woods or Continental of Belton and in good working order and 2: the tractor is in "good" running condition. Starts easily, doesen't smoke a lot and handles the mower without straining and 3: The hydraulics work well enough to lift the mower into a transport position.
Then I'd say "grab that sucker, it's a bargain"!

My 2¢,
Phil

The mower, if it is a Woods brand, would cost about $1400.00 today. Kinda makes the tractor look like a deal. I would go for it.

If you dont get it, I know a guy that has a Super C with a wide front end and the Woods mower on it for sale, He is asking $3200.00

Hi Ange: I have two Farmall Super C's. I just bought the second one for my work tractor. I will try and give you an example of it's worth.
* Fenders _____ __ $250
* Snowplow _____ _ $250
* New rear tire __ $200
* Pair chains ____ $200
* Belt pulley ____ $200
* New parts _____ $ 50
Total _____ _____ $1250
I paid _____ _____ $800
Repair two gears _ $ 50 So he paid me ____ $400 to take it away. It all depends how you look at it, and it is a good winter project. Around here you can expect to pay between $1200 and $2000 for one that is in good running condition. Hope this helps you. Bob
