Thank you for the responses guys, really. Please don't think I was whining or my feelings got hurt, I'm not a little kid. The responses that said stuff like* you will probably end up tearing up the tractor, or breaking something, wouldn't benefit from it *etc. were what I WAS wanting to here, like I said, I don't want to buy something that won't be useful for me. BamaBinder, I was only wanting to know if a Cub engine could be rebuilt, since it is sleeveless, and if so,how many times,I wasn't wanting to turn the Cub into something it wasn't.Later on a guy pretty much said that if you did anything at all to a Cub you were still ended up with something that was worthless. The point I was trying to make is what may seem worthless to one guy, might be what another guy likes,or even all that he could afford, some responses had a little criticism, and we all should watch that, because it probably does offend somebody.Advice and opinions are good, and that WAS what I was looking for, but, maybe we should be carefull how we say them, including me. Sorry I ruffled so many feathers.

Bill, Like you, When I have posted messages on how to get a little more power out of the cub I got a lot of "just buy an A " Well im on a mission to show em all. Ill have a cub that will feel like its on steriods this summer. Why? Its the perfect size for my yard and garage, there fun, and finally isnt it the american thing to do to hot rod anything? Im haveing a blast learning how far I can go with this engine. Keep up the cub faith. Ill give you straight answers when you are in need.

You seem to know about IH equipment. Can you suggest a manual which will help me do some valve and cylinder work to my cub cadet 122 (kohler) engine tractor/mower? I never did such repair before.

YES a cub engine can be rebuilt , you have to bore the block , pistons come in std. .020, .030..040, .060 after that you can sleave it back to std. and start over again,as long as the block is in good condition. It is almost like working on a toy to me after some of the things i work on.I went over to a freind's the other nite to help him with his cub and he had it scatered all over the floor ,he is replacing all the seals and gskt.and rebuilding the engine, got it in kit form some assy. required and batterys not inc.
