Local IH dealer, GM dealer and NAPA store cannot crossover Delco-Remy distributor spring #188-3899 for our '46 M . Only need one more, will one thats a little stronger be ok? # on distributor is 1111411 1L3 - any help/opinions are welcome.

I think you will want to make sure they are both the same spring constant. I replaced a set on my B because the were weak and the engine missed at high speed because they were advancing too much. The instructions with new springs said to keep matched set and not to over stretch on installation.
