Hi: Can anyone tell me what the setting is suppose to be for the flot, on a Carter UT? It goes to a Farmall C, and it leaks badly when choked. Any help is appreciated Thanks! Bob

Does it leak when the engine is not running?? If it does not, the float is probably OK. I have a C with the Carter and it leaked really badly. I did not know where to set the float, so just took a guess and lowered it to what I thought was plenty. Now it does not leak at all and the tractor starts easy and runs fine. Before, it was flooding out and fouling the plugs really bad.

Hass: Thanks a lot I will give it a try. I bought this C and have it running, it sounds good but now the hyd. don't work. I am hoping the pump doesn't need fixing. Bob

That's the way with these old tractors. You fix one thing and then you find something else and before you know it, you've been through the whole thing and spent a bunch of money! Have you checked the fluid level in the hydraulic system?? Also, if it is cold there may be some ice in there stopping things up. Does it load the tractor engine when you move the levers?? If so, I doubt it's the pump.

Hass: I filled the unit and still have nothing. I think may be you are right water in there and frozen up? It doesn't load up nothing. Thanks! Bob
