I have a 1948 cub and it is dischargeing I think it needs polaridzed how can I do this. thanks

IFF and I say IFF its stock and NEVER been messed with it should have POSITIVE GROUND this is the way the 6v systems were the reg were made for it to work this way you can get 6vneg ground but they were made for pos gnd original

make sure you polorize the generator with the engine NOT Running. We polorized one once with the tractor running. You will ruin the voltage regulator instantly.

take the field wire off the generator and jump between bat and armature connection momentarily. you will get a spark {normal} and you are polorized.

Be careful not to short anything else out. You can ruin your regulator and/or generator.

Polarize the generator soon, it will burn your points on the regulatory / cut out. Costs 36 bucks for a new one...
