Next weekend there is an auction a few miles from the house, and in the sale bill it lists a IH Hydro 87 Utility tractor (not running).I'm not familiar with this model, and for all I know it may be just a little lawnmower, and so I have some questions.Which one of the letter series tractors is it comparable to size wise?Did this model come with a fast hitch,or a 3 point,or just a drawbar? What kind of HP rating did it have? Also if it is in good shape (except for the engine)what kind of price range am I looking at,and what kind of bid cap would you fellas suggest? Thanks in advance! Bill C.

Well No body is answering your question.... IH never made a Hydro 87. But they made a Hydro 84 utility, about 50 to 55 HP, and a Hydro 86 which basically was 656 Hydro, and a Hydro 186 which was about the same size asa 986, 100 HP. There also were Hydro 70's, and Hydro 100's and 826 Hydros, and 1026 Hydro's Cub Cadets never had a Hydro smaller than 10 HP, The fact it's a "87 means 8 HP. It could possibly be a "CADET Lawn tractor" They made a Hydro 80-something. Little yellow & white mower tractor, 8 HP Briggs and a 32 or 36" deck.

Thanks a million Denny, you saved me a wasted trip to an auction,a little thing like that won't do me any good.I had kinda guessed it was little because of the small number but wasn't certain.I looked that sale ad up again and it sure said Hydro 87.***Once again it proves that if you want to know something about IH tractors, this is the place to ask the question.*** Thanks again! Bill C.
