IH 340 Utility

We have a IH 340 with a missing power steering unit. Would it be possible to use this tractor without it? We are just going to use it for mowing and will not put the loader back on. How should we route the lines if we eliminate it? Thank-you

Are in the process of stripping a 350U with W/power steering and according to the parts book it is same unit. If intrested e-mail me.

Hi Berg, Yep you can if you have arms like godzilla! It does make a big difference w/wo PS.

The 3/8" ? PS supply line can be routed back into the return port just below the steering column. The high pressure side comes off the pump plate on the left side of the tractor then goes upto the hydraulic steering motor and that where you can route it back to the return, the valve sitting next to the gear shift lever on the left side.

Thank you T_bone We may have to go without because none of the tractor salvage places in our area have a 340. Does anyone know of a good place to look for one? They did not sell very many in this area Thanks agin
