I've read before that I need to remove the pin from the bracket at the front of my water pump assembly to get the thing apart. I have the nut off, but the pin will not budge. It does not look at all corroded and I have let so much PB-Blaster soak around the pin that it drips out by the large brass? nut behind the bracket. Should it be that hard to remove this pin? Thanks! -BTD

Maybe this trick will work. I've used in on wheel bolts that are stuck. Screw a nut half way on the bolt(or pin) you want to remove and then screw another bolt of the same size into the remaining threads on the nut. You can then use a hammer on the head of the second bolt to break it loose without fear of damage to the threads.

BTD:
Like The Red says, be patient. I was successful in removing mine by placing a socket over the non threaded end and then using a C-Clamp to push the pin out.

Those tapered pins are notorious for getting stuck big time. What I usually have to do is place the nut back on until all the threads are used. Then I take a punch and tap it loose. You have to use patience on this one.
