I don't have any oil getting to the steering or brakes I would guess. Steering wheel just spins without turning the front wheels and brakes don't pump up. This may include the TA too. 2 pt hitch and hydraulic outlets work fine. I have changed the filter and checked the oil level. This all happened after I drained the oil from the transmission to pull the PTO. Is there air in the system I need to bleed to get these components to work? Any help would be appreciated.

You have a weak MCV pump or the key that drives it sheard off , try this pull the dip stick out and take a blow gun and a rag run the engine at about 1500 to 1700 and apply prussure to the transmission fill hole and see if you get steering back put a regulator on the air hose and keep it about 30 psi ,just becareful when you release the prussure it could look like old fath ful. Been there done that. Also try running the engine at the same rpm's and turn the steering wheel to the left to bleed the air out. Good luck.

Andy, if that doesn't work, try this; on the rear of the mcv there is a plug that can be removed with a 5/8 wrench. Remove the plug and briefly start the tractor until the air is purged and oil comes out. Sometimes just cranking the engine over is enough. Then put the plug back in. I've had to do this before when I've drained the oil or worked on the mcv. Just make sure no one is standing beside the tractor, as the oil is under a lot of pressure. Good luck. Dave
