I have a 51 H that I have been dismantling and getting ready to rebuild. The only problem that I seem to be having is that I am not exactly sure how to line up the timing gears. If anyone knows an easy way to do this please let me know. Or if you know anything else I should look out for I would appriciate the advice.

Thanks
Brian Miller

I thought you would have quite a few hits on this. I see there are still none. I have an IH blue ribbon service manual that mentions that each helical spur gear in the drive train is punched. I assume you just align the marks. Your dealer must have a shop manual that goes into details on this. I have a 50 "H". Twenty years ago, I did the motor over. I didn't touch the mains. I work this tractor pretty hard. It still has great oil pressure and I've never had the crank out. Let us know how you make out.
